TOGETHER CALIFORNIA: A VILLAGE FOR BROTHERS AND SISTERS FUNDRAISER

With your support we can bring the first Together California:
A Village for Brothers and Sisters to California
and begin to change how children are cared for in foster care.

For quite some time we have been working with Tim McCormick, CEO of the most successful SOS Children's Village Illinois to guide us in our endeavor to bring a model of this to California. This independent facility has been named:
Together California: A Village for Brothers and Sisters.

The Oscar winning actor Christian Bale has been to our office
to support the creation of Together California:
A Village for Brothers and Sisters
and has given a televised interview in Palmdale just a short time ago.

The Council has hosted symphony orchestras, including the Vienna Philharmonic, showcased major musical artists from the Republic of Austria and the United States of America, as well as having provided opportunities for lesser-known
talents to perform publicly. A variety of performers have enjoyed Council sponsorship.
AACW has presented countless concerts, book presentations and signings,
film production and screenings, lectures and exhibits.

Yearly highlights have been the Austrian-American Day black tie galas attended by

AUSTRIAN- AMERICAN DAY

Proclamation 7027 by the President of the United States of America
Bill Clinton, 2nd President of the United States (1993-2001)

In 1997, responding to an appeal initiated by the Austrian-American Council with support from then Austrian Ambassador to the United States of America Dr. Helmut Türk, the President of the United States Bill Clinton designated September 26 to be known nationwide as Austrian-American Day. In recognition of the friendships between the two countries and the contributions Austrians have made in so many fields to this great country, annual celebrations are organized and are attended by Ambassadors, members of the Diplomatic Corps, prominent local business leaders, and elected officials of Los Angeles City and County as well as members of the Austrian-American Council West and friends.
