the Austrian-American Council West (AACW) was ‘front and center’ in its support with its sponsorship of ten young athletes from Austria with intellectual disabilities. It began in 2014 when AACW hosted a fund-raising gala that allowed local Austrians to be first of LA’s cultural affinity groups to join the cause that brought 6,50 athletes from across the globe to
Los Angeles to compete in soccer, cycling, track and field, basketball, gymnastics,
aquatics and other sports, in this 8-day celebration of sport. The Austrian team earned many honors in the course of the games and the AACW expresses its pride and congratulations.
